Jordan 6 Rings "Venom Green" (Sat.March.1st) 8am @FinishLine via FullPiso

Jordan 6 Rings Venom Green
Jordan 6 Rings "Venom Green"

The Jordan 6 Rings originally launched in 2008 and has now become a staple in the Jordan lineup. This retro-inspired design features elements from the signature Jordan models that MJ won NBA Championship titles in but judging by the way it flies off the shelves, it deserves a title of its own.

The latest colorway of the Jordan 6 Rings is the “Venom Green” version. It features an Elephant Print upper design on an otherwise all black upper that has been accented with a contrasting Venom Green inner lining. The finishing touches on this colorway come in the form of the iconic Jumpman Jordan logo on the tongue, which is placed on the heel and tongue of the 6 Rings.

Is Pharrell Next to Sign to adidas? via #FulPiso

 1393277843_468402631.jpg

adidas has recaptured some attention over the past few months. No, not because the brand is killing it in the NBA, with new athlete signings, or challenging the status quo on the soccer field. Instead, the excitement is bred through an unmatched campaign to unite thought leaders in music and style. The three stripes are buzzing after luring a disgruntled Kanye West away from Nike and add him to an already lofty crew of designers that include Yohji Yamamoto, Raf Simons, Rick Owens, and Jeremy Scott. Now it appears there's another big-name signing for adidas that's been just out of sight of the blogosphere, Pharrell Williams.

A month ago, Highsnobiety published an industry rumor that Pharrell was signing to the sports brand, and reported, "Multiple sources have cited that the German firm has been working for months on an agreement that would add Williams to the adidas roster of artists and designers."

Two days later, on January 26, Pharrell showed up to the Grammys in a Vivienne Westwood brown hat that stole the show, but he was also wearing a pivotal garment: A leather version of adidas' classic Firebird jacket that had been made famous by B-boys in the '80s.

Since then, the evidence has been rolling in and pointing to Pharrell - who previously has designed sneakers with A Bathing Ape, Nike, and Reebok - coming on-board with adidas.

Two weeks after Pharrell hit the Grammy red carpet, he appeared at a nominee luncheon for the Academy Awards in a pair of customized white and green adidas Stan Smiths that read, "I Dunno," on the right sneaker sneaker and "Inside" on the left shoe.

Let's pause for a second. When was the last time Pharrell wore sneakers that weren't from a high-end fashion house? read more...

50 Cent Parts Ways with Interscope Records, Signs Independent Deal with Caroline/Capitol/UMG via FullPiso

 50_cent_indie.jpg

50 Cent has announced his departure from Shady/Aftermath/Interscope Records, which ends a successful partnership between the New York rapper and the first major label he signed with in 2002. In the span of 12 years, 50 released four solo albums under Interscope, with both Get Rich or Die Tryin' and The Massacre topping the charts. He also started his own label, G-Unit Records, with Interscope, which anchored his own roster of rappers.

50 Cent has also announced an exclusive distribution deal with Caroline/Capitol/UMG, which is where he'll be releasing his upcoming album Animal Ambition. According to 50, the album will be released June 3. Before then, he plans on releasing a song and video every week starting March 18, which is when Animal Ambition becomes available for pre-order.

Read what 50 Cent and Eminem have to say about the decision below:

50 Cent:

I have had great success to date with Shady/Aftermath/Interscope and I’d like to thank Eminem and Dr. Dre for giving me an incredible opportunity. I’ve learned so much from them through the years. I am excited to enter this new era where I can carry out my creative vision.

Eminem:

Both myself and Shady Records are grateful to have had the chance to play a part in 50′s career. Shady simply would not be what it is without 50 Cent. I’ve developed a great friendship with 50 over the years, and that’s not going to change. We know 50 will have success in his new situation, and we remain supporters of both him and G-Unit.

10 Music Discovery Platforms To Know About Right Now via FullPiso

 assets/CHANNEL_IMAGES/MUSIC/2014/02/lead_tkzdb.jpg

The Internet has amazing potential to expose us to new things. I’ve seen a six-way alley-oop impeccably coordinated like a Rube Goldberg machine built out of bored teenagers. I’ve seen too many cat videos and GIFs to count, which may or may not have resulted in me making the monumental leap to liking cats. But as a music nerd lifer, one of the most exciting aspects of the Internet is its ability to expose us to new music. My lamentation over the fall of the local record store has been mildly (if not temporarily) assuaged by the boundless access to music I have over my WiFi connection. This is one positive tradeoff of the music world morphing into a digital approximation of its former self: music is everywhere, and it’s mostly free.

Services like Spotify, Soundcloud, Pandora, Grooveshark, and Rdio have made big bucks exploring and exploiting this very idea. It’s a goldmine, and it’s a perfect target for the startup world. So it’s no surprise that innovative music discovery platforms seem to pop up constantly, each using their own creative approach to helping music fans discover hidden gems that were only accessible by slim chance even 15 years ago. I’ve come across obscure Ghanaian High Life music and field recordings of Blues greats using these services. I’ve also been able to share a playlist with friends for a Friday night party, and follow musical trends as they grow and fade. Without a doubt, these music discovery platforms give users access to an insane amount of music. Out of the countless music startups around the world, the following 10 sites and apps, all of which are free or very close to free, are the best music discovery platforms available right now. Take a look and happy hunting.
